The Ultimate Guide to Creating the Perfect Mindset for Taking College Entrance Exams

Your mindset is the attitude, belief, and perception you have about yourself, other people, and your environment.

Write down everything that pops into your mind about the TEST. You might want to use the back of this sheet. (this test decides my future, tests are dumb, etc...)

Write down the big feeling that comes up when you think about the TEST.(Like: overwhelm, stress, anxiety)

The thoughts you listed in step 1 are just sentences in the brain. We get to decide if they are true or not. Our brain's job is to protect us, so some thoughts are just automatic like that, and others are intentional, like overriding the default and still others are just engrained beliefs.

Write a B next to those "brain thoughts" and an M next to "me" thoughts.
Notice what you do or don't do when that feeling comes up.

Write them here. (Usually you have a bunch inner dialog that sounds like worrying, or stressing "maybe college isn't for me, or I hate this, or I'll do terrible, what if I fail?" or maybe you don't focus, don't study, you watch shows, go on social media, procrastinate).

These actions create the result or not feeling confident about TEST, or not being prepared mentally for the TEST.

This awareness will bring freedom. You'll discover that you can create feelings of confidence or calmness when changing your thoughts. I know it's not easy, that's why people hire me. But try asking yourself "why is (insert thought) a problem?"

Try on new thoughts to believe instead. The thing is that the "new" thoughts need to feel possible to believe. Mantras don't work necessarily, but if you find one that you almost believe, start there.

If those unintentional thoughts are left unchecked, you'll walk into the TEST with that feeling, AND the result. So ask yourself if your thoughts are true? Write an F next to the thoughts that you think are Facts.

Often we believe our thoughts are facts. It happens so fast. The TEST is the circumstance and then the feeling happens. We think the TEST is making us feel that way, but it's not the TEST's fault. The TEST cannot cause feelings. It's our thoughts about the TEST.

We tend to believe our thoughts. So question your thoughts.

Which thoughts do you want to keep believing and which do you want to change?
(Ex: I am prepared, I know the math, this test is not my enemy, but a way to get what I want).

Use essential oils! Oils are amazing. Certain oils help with certain emotions. The citrus oils are up-lifting. Mint oils are energizing and clear the mind. Still others are calming like lavender.

Believe in the version of yourself taking the TEST now. Prepare and trust yourself ahead of time. That future version of yourself will be grateful!
